The Personal Website of Jeremy Boles

This little corner of my website is where I collect things from the everyday goings-on in my life. It’s a chronicle, exhibit, and junk-drawer all at once. I have not had a social media profile in quite a few years now, so this part of my website fills a similiar purpose to what those places did for me in years past.

I have really enjoyed getting into Elixir again and having the BEAM virtual machine available.

I’ve settled into a “bachelor” meal that I like to make when the kids are at their mother’s house on the weekend: farinata and a cold beer. I got the batter put together for dinner this evening. It only takes a few minutes to do; I just have to remember to do it early so it has enough time to sit all day.

I had a no-judgment realization today that I spend far more time planning to write or building tools to help with writing than I do any actual writing.

I have really run out of steam when it comes to working on projects around the house. And there is still an endless list of things to do around here.

An unease about where I fit into things is a thread you can follow throughout my entire time of making a living by doing things with computers. But I’m not sure I’ve ever had more questions about where I fit into all of it than I do now.

The busier and more packed-full the day before, the earlier my brain starts up, craving some space.

PHOTO: two bottles from the Hill Farmstead Brewery

A guy looking an awful lot like me traveled to Vermont to try the beer from this mythical brewery. It was one of those special culinary experiences that lived up to expectations, and because of that, I’ve held onto the bottles brought back from that trip for thirteen years. It’s time to let go of these bottles and, really, let that old life start to live only in memory.
