Distance means so little, when someone means so much.
This little corner of my website is where I collect things from the everyday goings-on in my life. It’s a chronicle, exhibit, and junk-drawer all at once. I have not had a social media profile in quite a few years now, so this part of my website fills a similiar purpose to what those places did for me in years past.
Distance means so little, when someone means so much.
A guy looking an awful lot like me traveled to Vermont to try the beer from this mythical brewery. It was one of those special culinary experiences that lived up to expectations, and because of that, I’ve held onto the bottles brought back from that trip for thirteen years. It’s time to let go of these bottles and, really, let that old life start to live only in memory.
It’s not much, but we’ve gathered our first batch of mulberries for the year.
Getting our weekend walk in.
The “dude weekend” continues.
The morning hours are mine. They are my time to get my thoughts in order before the world wakes up and the pressures of life start to wear my energy away.

I like to watch this video every once in a while to remind myself that there was once a time when we thought about how humans interact with computers. We used to put a lot of thought into how computers exist to support a human’s interests. Now it often feels like computers exist to make money for everyone other than the human using the computer.

A poignant take on where the AI frenzy seems to be heading.
I woke this morning having received nice notes from multiple friends, which makes me happy and feel loved.
I always feel a bit defeated when I’m shopping here. I think that probably says more about me than it does about this place.
I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how much of a whirlwind the last two months of my life have been—let alone the last year. The last couple of months have been mostly good things; the eight before that… not so much.
Getting my walk in before it warms up.
I’ve gathered two more bags of clothing to take to the second-hand store as I slowly weed through my possessions, letting go of what I no longer need or want. It’s not much, but it’s a start.
Like picking up trash where you walk, even if the rest of the world is full of litter. You keep doing what you can to make things better.
I’ve faced so much intense rejection over the past year that any time I feel loved, or even when someone just wants to be around me, I can’t help but get all teary-eyed.
Sorting through the difference between simple and easy is a constant source of stress in my life.
A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone.
I have been having conversations lately that are causing me to reflect on my roots, or rather, the lack thereof. I find myself envious of my friends who have these rich, long histories woven into the fabric that makes them who they are.
