Projects

An archive of work, past and present.

My brain always wants something to be working on. What follows is quick notes about projects and ideas I’m working on now, would like to work on, or have worked on before.

Current

Uile and Its Tools

  • Uile — an Elixir umbrella that holds the data and answers over a Unix socket
  • atlas, logbook, assets, contacts, calendar, pass, and todo — small Rust command-line tools, one per kind of thing, all talking to the same socket

Software

  • Napkin — a notepad calculator that reads the way you write
  • Owl — turns old computers into word-processing appliances

Odds and Ends

  • cairn — saves GeoJSON payloads to PostgreSQL
  • geohash — converts between geohashes and coordinates on the command line
  • Wattle — a multi-tool for weaving groups of files together

Future and Dream Projects

  • booke.club — a world-wide invisible library
  • narrated.world — leave a story somewhere in the world, and hear that person tell it as you walk past
  • robot.ink — a printer that friends can send messages to
  • scout.game — find virtual items around the world

Past Projects and Work

  • Bloom — an early coffee timer for iOS
  • gomockingbird.com — a project I adopted and ran over the course of the COVID-19 lockdown
  • oggl — a now-defunct social network I helped build with my pals at Hipstamatic
  • Rewind — an iOS and Android app I made with my pal Luke that pulled up old photos from your Instagram timeline
  • Scribe — a random name generator for iOS
