Mockingbird
A wireframing product I adopted and eventually closed.
Mockingbird was a wireframing tool built by Saikat Chakrabarti and Sheena Pakanati. I took it over in April 2020.
Its front end was written in Objective-J on the Cappuccino Framework, which offered an OpenStep-flavored API for building web applications. That is a genuinely unusual thing to inherit.
History
In December 2022 I announced I was shutting it down. My life changed severely across 2020 and 2021, and I was never able to give the product the attention it deserved.
Running it taught me an enormous amount, and I’m proud that I kept the service up so people could do their jobs through the pandemic. I still consider closing it a significant personal failure.
