Journal Entries
Here on my website, the journal is where I publish things that most folks would generally post on a social network like Twitter or Instagram. In fact, everything posted to my journal is syndicated to my various social network profiles. In contrast to the articles that I’ve written, these are short thoughts, links, photos, and quick videos—little snapshots of life, if you’d like.

Tehlu, help me. I’m already a bit unhappy with the design of my website. I am thinking about simplifying it a lot to focus on content. Isn’t that how I started?

A Note Posted on Jan 11 2021
The last seven or so days were the week of weeks, but I’m definitely optimistic about starting this next one with good news coming from my mom.

Big day. My mom goes in for brain surgery this afternoon. I’m choosing to assume that everything will be fine. That’s okay, right?

A Note Posted on Jan 02 2021
I’ve bought way too many domains lately. There is no way I’m going to be able to get to all of these ideas.

I love getting out for a quiet walk when the rest of the world thinks its too early or cold to leave the house. Posted on from Springfield, United States of America.
A Note Posted on Dec 31 2020
I expected that I would have a lot of time to write during my break here at the end of the year, but that’s not really been the case. Not been in the right headspace for that kind of, though.

A Note Posted on Dec 30 2020
Decided to take the morning off from hacking on my website to hash out some app UI ideas that have been knocking around in my head over the break.

Early morning hat-tip to my neighbor, who is also up ridiculously early.

A Note Posted on Dec 27 2020
I’m having one of those mornings where I got up to write, but I’m distracting myself with programming because writing is hard.

A Note Posted on Dec 27 2020
I spent a big chunk of the day yesterday sketching and doodling, which I used to do a lot but can’t ever seem to find the time to do these days.

A Note Posted on Dec 24 2020
Waking up early to hack on your website a bit is an okay way to spend Christmas Eve, right?

At least for this morning, I’m feeling pretty good about how this design is all coming together.

A Note Posted on Dec 19 2020
My awake time has been shifting earlier and earlier lately. It’s not a big deal during the pandemic since I can’t go out and see friends, but being wide awake at 4 am doesn’t seem very normal.

A Note Posted on Dec 18 2020
It’s been fun waking up each morning and making tiny little improvements to something. My day job requires me to continually think about the big picture, which I do like, but it’s nice just to get into code and hack on one problem for a short time.

A Note Posted on Dec 17 2020
I woke up early to mess around using faasd as a way to add Webmentions to my website. I’m having a lot of fun in this plumbing phase, but I’m also looking forward to getting back to design.

A Note Posted on Dec 15 2020
I had a video meeting this afternoon with three, yes three, levels of bosses. Pre-2020 Jeremy would have cringed at the mere thought of this, but it was the highlight of 2020 Jeremy’s week. I may require more human interaction.

Okay, I’ve wrapped the final issue with using Caddy for short URLs. The server will now reload whenever there is a new short URL added to my website. I need to do a full write-up on this simple process.

If all goes according to plan, this should be my first POSSE’d note from my website to Mastadon.

A Note Posted on Dec 15 2020
Now that I have a strategy for short URLs, I’m going to get started on syndicating my notes onto Mastadon. After this, maybe I should stop procrastinating by continuously coding and start writing, which is why I got my website started in the first place.

A Note Posted on Dec 14 2020
Getting my own, personal URL shorten going. I feel like this is a good first-step for getting the stuff that I create onto the IndieWeb.

A Note Posted on Dec 11 2020
I am adding some old travel stories to the website. They aren’t very good, but I spent a lot of time on them, so it nice that they will see the light of day.

A Note Posted on Dec 10 2020
I made a quick little script to quickly post notes to my website from the command-line. I don’t make enough little, one-off, helper tools for myself.
