The term “foodie” has been like nails on a chalkboard to my ears since the first time I heard it uttered from the lips of a friend.

The person that called me a foodie, that first time I heard it, no doubt meant it has a compliment. But after I had processed what it was that he said to me and it sunk it that this was a word that people were using to identify themselves as, I knew that it was something that I wanted nothing to do with.
